UNICEF says Ethiopian armed forces stormed its Mekele headquarters

The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) denounced this Monday that members of the Ethiopian Armed Forces broke into the headquarters of Mekele, capital of the conflictive region of Tigray, and dismantled the equipment for the transmission and reception of satellite transmissions. (VSAT).

"This act violates the privileges and immunities of the UN and the rules of International Humanitarian Law with respect to respect for the objects of humanitarian aid," said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore, in a brief statement condemning the happened "in the strongest terms."
