Scott Perry responds to reporter: "We have the bank accounts that we can see, ma'am", in relation to the impeachment trial against Biden

The top House Republican sharply criticized a reporter during a news conference Tuesday following Speaker Kevin McCarthy's announcement that he was authorizing an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

During a Freedom Caucus press conference, an incredulous Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) attacked a reporter who asked what evidence House Republicans had to begin the investigation.

“What real evidence do you have to counter the allegations to show the American public that would justify a true impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden and show that today is not just about some of you?” asked a reporter off camera.

“Oh, I don't know,” Perry chimed in when the reporter went on to suggest that Republicans were simply “enacting a political vendetta” after Democrats impeached then-President Donald Trump.

“This is not about political revenge. We have the bank accounts that we can see, ma'am. It can be seen that the houses that the Bidens own cannot be afforded with a salary from Congress or the Senate. "You also understand that it is not normal for family members to receive millions of dollars from foreign interests," Perry responded, becoming increasingly animated and agitated.
