House of Representatives approves curtailing power of tech giants

The Judicial Committee of the United States House of Representatives approved several bills on Thursday aimed at limiting the power of large technology companies, which will have to overcome a tough fight in Congress to be approved.

In a marathon session that lasted two days, the members of that committee approved six bills that target the business practices of Google, Apple, Amazon and Facebook.

The last of those texts limits the ability of technology platforms to take advantage of their control in multiple lines of business, potentially opening the door to the dissolution of some of the gigantic companies. It was approved by a narrow margin of 21 to 20 votes.
