A collapse collapse investigation of the Champlain Tower South building

MIAMI.- Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, said during a press conference that he had met with scientists and engineers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) who are doing preliminary research and preserving materials and evidence, to help experts to understand the causes of the collapse of the Champlain Tower South building, in Surfside, just north of Miami-Beach, last Thursday.

"It is the first time that NIST investigates a collapse of this magnitude, although they bring vast experience in other types of investigations, such as acts of terrorism, hurricanes and tornadoes," he said.
