Dominic Raab, British Foreign Minister, said that the
country will adopt the same measures announced by the EU against the Chavista
dictatorship on Monday: "We will continue to work with European partners
and in our own independent sanctions regime to defend our values," he
said. .
After the European Union (EU) announced sanctions against 11
Chavista regime officials on Monday, Britain on Tuesday indicated that it will
take the same measures as the supranational block to which it ceased to belong
on January 31.
"These new sanctions (those imposed by the EU), which
Britain will also adopt, show that human rights violations and contempt for
democracy in Venezuela will not be tolerated," said British Foreign
Minister Dominic Raab, on his Twitter account.
