Russia condemns the killing of Gaddafi's son and calls for a thorough investigation

The Russian government strongly condemned the killing of the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and demanded a full, impartial, and transparent investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crime and bring those responsible to justice. The statement was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which described the killing as a serious act that contributes to political and security instability in Libya.

According to the official statement, Moscow stressed the need to prevent such events from going unpunished, as they could exacerbate internal tensions in the North African country, which has faced political divisions, armed conflict, and a fragile institutional structure for years. In this regard, Russian authorities insisted that only through a rigorous investigation process in accordance with international law will it be possible to guarantee justice.

Russia also reiterated its concern about the deteriorating security situation in the region and called on all actors involved to exercise restraint to prevent an escalation of violence. The ministry noted that incidents like this hinder national reconciliation efforts and impede the stabilization of the country.

Finally, Moscow reaffirmed its readiness to support diplomatic initiatives that promote political dialogue and peace in Libya, while urging the international community to contribute to the protection of the civilian population and the strengthening of the rule of law.
