White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt harshly
criticized a federal district judge on Wednesday after he ordered the return of
flights carrying suspected Venezuelan gang members deported and in the country
illegally.
Leavitt's remarks followed President Donald Trump's
criticism of U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, calling him a "radical
left-wing lunatic," following a temporary order blocking deportation
flights.
In addition to calling Boasberg an "activist"
judge, Leavitt also verbally attacked his wife for her political donations to
Democrats.
"In this case, the judge is basically trying to say
that the president does not have the executive authority to deport foreign
terrorists from our United States. That is a blatant abuse of power," she
told reporters during a press conference.
