Donald Trump sent termination notices to several federal prosecutors appointed by Joe Biden

President Donald Trump's White House has sent termination notices to several federal prosecutors across the country, appointed by Democratic President Joe Biden, aiming to crack down on officials who disobey the new administration's directives.

In the email, the deputy director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office informed the recipients: "At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as U.S. Attorney has been terminated, effective immediately."

Although it was not immediately known whether all of them had received termination notices from the White House, several federal prosecutors, from Seattle to Maryland, have resigned.

Attorneys and former attorneys at the Justice Department say that while it is common for federal prosecutors to resign after a change in presidential administration, the incoming administration typically requests their resignations rather than sending terse termination letters.
