CNN continues to try to attack Trump, now seeking to discredit the reduction of government waste

A Republican congressman clashed live with a CNN anchor during a discussion Tuesday about an effort led by President Donald Trump to reduce government waste.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) sparred with CNN anchor Pamela Brown after she essentially accused Trump and his replacement, Department of Government Efficiency Chief Elon Musk, of taking reckless steps to sharply curb federal spending amid a growing $36 trillion national debt.

Brown repeatedly pressed Burchett on the Trump administration's efforts to reduce government waste, specifically questioning whether the approach was “more clumsy than methodical.” Brown further argued that the administration was making “high-risk mistakes” in its execution.

“Humans will make mistakes, ma'am. But currently these are bloated programs. There are employees who are not showing up and who are angry because they have to go back to work, because they have moved and they are not even far from where their original jobs were,” Burchett said while Brown acknowledged that “no one” disagreed with getting rid of waste.
