From the hand of Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida approved a
series of laws that shield the State from the manipulations of the Democrats
with which they managed to defeat Trump in 2020.
Since Donald Trump left the White House, Florida Governor
Ron DeSantis has become a rage within the Republican Party.
Last Thursday, April 15, the Florida Senate, controlled by
Trumpist Republicans, approved by 23 votes to 17 legislation to toughen
penalties for those who protest violently or loot, allow a greater police
deployment to control protests and protect the rights of owners whose
businesses are vandalized and other victims of the protests.
The law was strongly criticized by the Democratic sectors,
even with Joe Biden threatening to intervene personally to prevent it from
going into effect, but nothing could stop DeSantis who signed it on April 19.
According to the governor, the law is a response to protests last year
following the death of George Floyd that destroyed entire cities across the
country.
The so-called HB1 Law (“Anti-Riot Bill”) grants legal
immunity to those people who drive through protests who are blocking a street
or route, in case they step on a protester or generate any type of damage.
