Luis Fley, better known in Nicaragua as 'Commander Johnson',
who fought Ortega's Sandinismo in the 1980s, has his name in the pack of
presidential candidates and is one of the regime's harshest opponents, in
search of a change of government model in that Central American country.
Fley questions a political reform promoted by Ortega, which
gives the Police the power to authorize political rallies and denies financing
to candidates, among other controversial aspects, and also deplores the
violation of human rights in his country. However, he assures that he is
willing to one day "fill his chest with lead" for democracy in that
nation.
"We are all afraid because the government is criminal, a
government that if it has to kill it will. It was a recommendation that Tomás
Borge (founding member of the Sandinista National Liberation Front) made to
Daniel Ortega. He told her that the highest cost is losing power and they have
to do what they have to do. They have imprisoned, they have violated human
rights”, said Fley.
