Ex Marine saves a boy when he was thrown from a burning apartment in Arizona

A chilling filming captured the moment Phillip Blanks, a former college football player, reacted swiftly and ran to catch a three-year-old boy who was thrown from the balcony of a burning apartment on a third floor in Phoenix, Arizona.

The boy's mother, Rachel Long, did not survive the fire, which occurred on July 3. Her children, an 8-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital with burns but are expected to survive, according to local reports.

Blanks, 28, a former United States Marine and wide receiver for the Saddleback College football team in Mission Viejo, California, told ABC7 television that the boy "spun in the air like a propeller."
