The New York marathon, the busiest on the international
sports calendar and scheduled for November 1, has been canceled due to
"coronavirus-related health concerns," its organizers announced
Wednesday.
"The organizers of the test, in association with the
City Council of New York City, have made the decision to cancel the world's
largest marathon due to coronavirus-related concerns for the health and safety
of runners, spectators, volunteers, workers and partners and communities that
support this event, "said in a statement.
