Justice Department Opens Criminal Investigation into Alleged “Law Warfare” Against Trump and His Allies

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that the U.S. Department of Justice has launched a sweeping criminal investigation into what she described as a “law war conspiracy” that allegedly spanned more than a decade and, according to her, was orchestrated during the Obama-Biden era to shield Democratic Party figures from accountability, while using state institutions to politically persecute President Donald Trump and his associates.

In written responses sent to Just the News while recovering from eye surgery, Bondi noted that federal prosecutors and agents are already actively investigating what she called the “weaponization of government” for political purposes. According to the Attorney General, the investigation dates back to the alleged collusion with Russia in 2016 and extends to other incidents that occurred during subsequent election cycles.

Bondi explained that the Justice Department is pursuing the case under the legal framework of an “ongoing conspiracy,” an approach that allows investigators to consider each of the alleged acts as part of a single, continuous criminal enterprise. This legal framework opens the door to filing charges even beyond the usual statute of limitations, as it is understood that these are not isolated incidents, but rather a sustained strategy.

According to the Attorney General, the objective of the investigation is to determine whether there was a systematic pattern of misuse of government agencies and the judicial system for partisan purposes, both to protect certain political actors and to weaken and discredit adversaries. “It’s not just about reviewing past decisions, but about clarifying whether an institutional machinery was built to interfere in the country’s political life,” she reportedly stated in her responses.

The announcement has sent shockwaves through Washington's political sphere, where mixed reactions are already anticipated. For those close to Trump, the investigation represents a necessary step to expose what they consider years of political persecution; for his critics, however, it could be a new front in the confrontation that deepens polarization.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department has not released any timelines or specific names of potential suspects, but has made it clear that the investigation is underway and could be broad in scope. If the accusations are confirmed, the case could become one of the most significant legal and political episodes in recent years in the United States.
