Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell, on the initial
DOGE findings at the DOD, had this to say:
"So we promised them transparency in this Department of
Defense and in the United States. That's exactly what they're going to get, because
they deserve it."
"So at DOD, we've been working hand in hand with the
DOGE team. And as the Secretary said, we welcome that process because it will
make us more lethal."
"And that means our warfighters on the battlefield will
be more successful. And that's what this process is all about. So, for the sake
of transparency, look at some of the initial things we found in the Air Force.
$1.9 million for DEI transformation and holistic training. $6 million for the
University of Montana to strengthen American democracy by reducing divisions in
the Defense human resources activity. $3.5 million for support of DEI
groups..."
