President Joe Biden condemned the killing of an
Israeli-American citizen who Hamas reportedly killed during an attempted rescue
operation involving him and five others in a tunnel under Rafah in Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces said Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five
others had been waiting to be rescued for almost 11 months since they were
captured in the Hamas terrorist attacks that killed 1,200 civilians in Israel
on October 7.
CBS News reported: “In a statement, the Israel Defense
Forces identified the other recovered hostages as Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi,
Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Staff Sgt. Ori Danino. The army said the
six had died shortly before the arrival of Israeli forces.”
