The possibility of holding the Clintons in contempt of court for failing to appear in the Epstein case grows

 

Steve Scalise (R-LA) drops out of House Speaker race.

"He announced the decision after a closed-door meeting with his fellow House Republicans Thursday night.

Scalise won a Republican conference vote for the speaker nomination earlier this week over Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, but many GOP members said they would not vote for him in the House.

After the conference meeting, Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., said he was "not surprised" to see Scalise drop out of the race. "He expressed his support for Jordan and said he believes he can reach the votes necessary to become president."
