Minnesota will give nearly 81,000 unauthorized immigrants
the opportunity to obtain driver's licenses starting next month, the state
Department of Public Safety announced.
Faced with almost general disapproval from residents, the
Democratic government has decided to take a step forward in the regularization
of drivers regardless of the status that citizens have.
The disapproval of Minnesota residents is based on the
excessive growth of illegal immigrants in the state during the current federal
administration and the support given to it by the Democratic state governments.
The state's “Driver's License for All” initiative will begin
Oct. 1, as formally revealed during a press conference Thursday.
"We will be able to begin accepting driver's license
applications for all Minnesotans, including those who do not have legal
presence in the United States," said Pong Xiong, director of the Minnesota
Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services.
