Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania compared his Democratic
colleague, Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey, to a fictional mafia family, while
declaring that he “needs” to resign from the House amid allegations of bribery
and corruption.
During an interview on MSNBC's far-left show Joy Reid on
Tuesday night, Fetterman said Menendez was like fictional mobster Tony Soprano
while discussing gold bars found in the New Jersey senator's possession along
with wads of of bills.
“Honestly, I was surprised to be the first. I mean, it's so
black and white. I mean, it's very clear. The last time there was a man with
this much cash in his New Jersey home it was Tony Soprano. Know? I mean, it's
not... it's not... it's not a difficult decision, and if you were looking for
the most incriminating kind of evidence, no one could even find gold bars in a
mattress. So, time and time again, he has a right to have his day in court, but
he has no right to remain in the Senate and he needs to leave,” Fetterman said.
