The mayor of the city of Miami, Francis Suárez, stressed his
support for the people of Cuba, who on a historic day this Sunday took to the
streets to demand their rights and confront the regime that oppresses them.
As the mayor said at a press conference this Monday, July
12, outside the popular Versailles restaurant in Miami, both local, state and
federal authorities are aware of what is happening on the island.
Since Sunday afternoon, when the regime suspended internet
services, Cubans also faced the difficulty of being able to transmit what was
happening in the country.
In that sense, the mayor said that he discussed this issue
with Senator Marco Rubio and that they are exploring how to provide Wi-Fi
signal from the interest office in Havana and through a satellite.
