MIAMI— The Cuban State Security continues the persecution of
the Cuban writer and opponent Ángel Santiesteban Prats, who remains hidden to
avoid being arrested.
In statements offered to CubaNet, Santiesteban denounced
that since last Monday, July 12, the political police have launched several
operations to capture him and that the places he usually frequented are kept
under surveillance.
Santiesteban assured that the political police had the
complicity of the owner of the rental where he was staying with the journalist
Camila Acosta, a collaborator of CubaNet.
Shortly before Acosta was released, regime agents again
tried to use the owner of the rental to capture the writer. He let Santiesteban
know that if he did not arrive at the house in two hours they would vote on all
his belongings.
