The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education
(Adeac) emphasized "prevention, social distancing and capacity on the
beaches" to reduce risks against the pandemic at the press conference in
which it presented the flags.
The figures show that Spain, with 23 more beaches and 4
fewer ports, maintains the uninterrupted international leadership since 1987
followed by Greece (514), Turkey (508), France (507), Italy (482) and Portugal
(387). .
Nine beaches have been awarded the blue badge for the first
time this year. These are La Chapineta, in Cartagena (Murcia); Lance Nuevo,
Mojácar (Almería); Las Nieves, Agaete (Gran Canaria); El Muelle and the natural
pools of El Caletón, in Garachico (Tenerife); Arnao, in Castrillón (Asturias)
and three in the province of Pontevedra: Agra, in Sanxenxo, Carril, Vigo and
Compostela, in Vilagarcía de Arousa. EFE
