The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO),
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned today that the coronavirus pandemic is
entering a "new and dangerous phase", after a record number of more
than 150,000 daily infections on the planet.
"Almost half of those cases were reported in America,
with high numbers also in South Asia and the Middle East," said the
Ethiopian expert, who warned that "the virus continues to spread rapidly,
it is still fatal and many people are susceptible to get it. " (EFE)
