In a statement that quickly went viral, U.S. Attorney
General Pam Bondi harshly criticized Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff,
accusing him of lying to the American people and using his political position
to gain public notoriety.
During a tense exchange, Bondi recalled that Schiff was
censured by Congress for spreading false information related to federal
investigations and national security matters. The Attorney General stated
bluntly:
“You know, Schiff? If you had worked for me, you would have
been fired because Congress censured you for lying!” Bondi declared, visibly
outraged.
The official also accused the legislator of attacking key US
government institutions, including the FBI Director's office and the border
czar's office, whom she defended as public servants fulfilling their duty to
protect the nation's security.
"You've been attacking my FBI director, my office, the
border czar... 'oversight'? What you want is five minutes of fame attacking
good people," Bondi retorted, amid applause and supportive reactions from
those present.
The confrontation between Pam Bondi and Adam Schiff reflects
the growing political polarization in Washington, where cross-accusations and
personal finger-pointing have become part of the public debate.
Bondi, recognized for her role as Attorney General and later
as an ally of President Donald Trump, has maintained a critical stance toward
Democratic lawmakers who have misused congressional oversight processes for
media and partisan purposes.
For his part, Schiff, one of the most visible faces of the
Democratic Party, has responded on other occasions to his critics by defending
his oversight work and asserting that his actions are based on accountability
and government transparency, a position questioned by citizens.
The exchange between the two political figures continues to
generate widespread repercussions in the media and on social media, where
supporters and detractors of both have rekindled the debate about the limits of
legislative power, political ethics, and the public responsibility of elected
officials.
