Gasoline shortage in Russia: Reports

RUSSIA.-  School buses in the Nishny Novgorod region have reportedly not been operating due to a lack of gasoline.

Private gas stations have been without fuel for two to three weeks. 67% of gas stations in Russia are privately owned and cover a large part of the country.

The Russian newspaper Kommersant reports that 50% of all gas stations in Crimea and 360 (about 3%) are permanently closed across Russia, with the south and southwest particularly affected.

The Russian Energy Ministry is considering extending the ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year. According to Kremlin sources, Kommersant has learned that gasoline production has decreased by 10%.
