President Joe Biden once again went viral on social media
for all the wrong reasons after some apparent missteps during a meeting with
Brazil's leftist president.
During an event supposedly promoting “workers’ rights,”
Biden was seen clashing with the flag of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s
country, then did a clownish half-trot toward the stage where he gave a
labored, rambling speech about his “economic vision to Rebuild our economy from
the middle out and from the bottom up, not from the top down.”
“The two largest democracies in the Western Hemisphere are
defending human rights around the world and in the hemisphere, and that
includes the rights of workers,” Biden proclaimed.
After Biden spoke, it was Lula's turn, but the US president
appeared to fumble with his headphones to get the foreign leader's
interpretation of the speech.
“Can you hear me, President Biden? “This is a historic
moment for Brazil and for the United States,” Lula declared as he began to
speak.
After Lula finished speaking, Biden loudly declared, “Good
job!”
But then, instead of shaking Lula's hand, Biden simply
turned around and left the stage, which seemed to irritate Lula even more.CBrief
