Parents will decide to use a mask for students in Arizona

Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey reminded school districts Tuesday, Aug. 17 to continue face-to-face education and stay away from requiring masks from students or they will risk their new grants.

"Parents are in the driver's seat, and it is their right to make the decisions that best suit the needs of their children," he said, according to CNN. “Safety recommendations are welcome and encouraged; the mandates that pose the most stress to students and families are not.

Public school districts are challenging House Bill 2898 of June 30, which prohibits schools from imposing masks and vaccination mandates amid mounting anxiety over a steady rise in new related COVID-19 cases. with the Delta variant.

They argued that the legislation didn't go into effect until mid-September, CNN reported, meaning they could still impose mask requirements at least until that period.
