Business productivity indices have remained stable in recent
years in the Central American Integration System (SICA) region and indicate
that the main challenge is to grow in innovation, according to a report
promoted by the Center for the Promotion of Micro and Small Business. Company (Cenpromype).
The researcher Gabriel Fernández pointed out in a
conversation with Efe that the indexes in the areas of «networking»,
opportunity to undertake, absorption of technology and innovation have remained
«more or less stable».
Fernández, one of the researchers who participated in the
preparation of the report "Scenarios and evolution of MSMEs in the SICA
region", highlighted that the best performance is the dimension of
opportunity to undertake.
On the opposite side and "with a lower level of development"
is product innovation.
"What stands out the most in the region are the
entrepreneurial opportunities and where the greatest challenges lie is in
product innovation," he stressed.
