MIAMI - The bodies of ten more victims were recovered at the
site of the Surfside apartment condo collapse, bringing the death toll to 64,
authorities said Thursday afternoon.
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava reported that 76
people were still potentially missing, although it remains to be established
whether they were actually in the building at the time of the tragedy.
For his part, Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said he spoke
with firefighters and rescuers who expressed their desire not to stop working
"until they hit the bottom of the pile."
"We won't stop," Burkett said of the body recovery
efforts.
