Venezuela must be declared a promoter of terrorism: Iván Duque

The government of a country that protects the guerrillas should be considered a terrorist, said Colombian President Iván Duque, who asked the United States on Monday to declare Venezuela a terrorist promoter.

According to the president of the Latin American country, there, in Venezuela, the ELN guerrillas and FARC dissidents that carried out attacks against a military brigade and their helicopter are protected.

"Clearly that consent of the dictatorial regime of Venezuela merits a declaration, by the United States, also, as a country that promotes terrorism."

This was stated by Duque at the III International Seminar on the Analysis and Prevention of Urban Terrorism, which takes place in Bogotá and in which the United States Ambassador to Colombia, Philip Goldberg, participates.
