Lebanese Prime Minister resigns

Lebanon's prime minister-designate, Saad Hariri, resigned today after nine months without having managed to form a government due to a lack of political consensus, amid a strong worsening of the economic crisis that broke out in the country in 2019 and that these days has left without electricity or basic products.

Hariri's resignation, the second in less than two years, occurred due to the impossibility of agreeing on a list of ministers with the Lebanese president, Michel Aoun, a reason that has prevented the formation of a government since he was commissioned with this mission, the last october.
