For Supreme Court to remove federal abortion protections, Republicans ask

Virtually all Republican congressmen on Thursday, July 29, asked the Supreme Court to roll back federal protections for abortion and, if possible, overturn Roe v. Wade who legalized the procedure.

Nearly all of the 231 GOP lawmakers joined a presentation in Congress urging the high court to uphold the Mississippi abortion ban after 15 weeks of pregnancy, and overturn Roe v. Wade on the road if necessary, Bloomberg reported.

Only three senators from the Republican caucus refused to join the brief. They are Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Shelley Moore Capito (R-Virginia).
