MIAMI - Black Lives Matter uncovers and demonstrates what
many claimed: it is on the side of dictatorships, albeit with distracting
arguments.
Now, the movement is convening a virtual forum called
"The time has come, the people, Cuba and radical solidarity", under
the argument of support for the people of Cuba, while promoting the lifting of
the economic embargo of the United States by Cuban regime and criticizes the
recent sanctions announced by the Biden administration against the Cuban
dictatorship.
In a post published on his Instagram account, the
self-proclaimed Marxist movement “Black Lives Matter convenes an online forum
with Cuban comrades on the current political situation and growing solidarity
at this time”.
After a popular uprising took place on July 11 in more than
40 cities in Cuba where cries of "we are hungry", "down with the
dictatorship" and "freedom" were heard, the massive support that
these citizen protests received on the island from of the Cuban community
exiled in the US, were criticized by the Black Lives Matter movement, which
according to a report by the AP press agency, on July 14, considered that the
actions of the government authorities in Florida regarding the demonstrations
of the Cuban community "a double standard was being applied." Since
the government of Florida declared itself from the first moment in favor of the
freedom of the Cuban people.
