Even with a marked social discontent, everything indicates
that the new government of Peru will be headed by the leftist Pedro Castillo.
According to the information, the right-wing Keiko Fujimori,
who continues to denounce a "fraud" in the Peruvian elections, lost
her last appeals to the electoral authorities on Monday to delay the
proclamation as president-elect.
The evidence presented by Fujimori has been discarded, as
have popular intentions to make themselves heard to reverse the questioned
electoral results in the Latin American country.
All the appeals presented by Fujimori to annul the electoral
results were ultimately rejected by the plenary session of the National
Elections Jury (JNE), according to sources from Peru's highest electoral body
confirmed to Efe.
