The long-running federal investigation into Rudy Giuliani's
deals in Ukraine was back in public view on Wednesday when federal agents
seized electronic devices from the former mayor's home and office.
The search was the latest development in an investigation
that coincided with the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump, who was
accused of pressuring Ukraine's leaders to investigate Joe Biden and his son.
The investigation involves a complex network of
international figures who dealt with Giuliani while trying to generate support
for a Ukrainian investigation of the Bidens.
Federal prosecutors have not disclosed which elements of
Giuliani's work are the focus of their investigation, currently led by Audrey
Strauss, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
