A Democratic judge in New Mexico had an alleged gang member arrested for immigration at his home and resigned today
A Democratic judge in New Mexico resigned last month after
immigration authorities reportedly arrested a suspected Tren de Aragua gang
member living in his home.
The suspect, an undocumented immigrant, initially entered
the United States through Eagle Pass, Texas, and was granted immigration parole
due to overcrowding before moving to New Mexico.
Federal prosecutors in the District of New Mexico allege
that 23-year-old Cristhian Ortega-López was in illegal possession of a firearm
and has ties to Tren de Aragua, a notoriously violent Venezuelan gang.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump and the U.S. State
Department officially designated the gang as a foreign terrorist organization,
Breitbart News reported.
