President Trump has announced that the United States will
replace the EB-5 visa program, which grants residency to foreign investors,
with a new "Gold Card" program.
The Gold Card will
cost $5 million, require research and aim to attract investment to reduce the
US deficit.
"They will be able to pay five million dollars to the
United States government. They will have to go through an investigation, of
course... The president can give them a green card, and they can invest in the
United States and we can use that money to reduce our deficit."
