The four cases that prosecutors have brought against former
President Donald Trump are not about merit or winning: they are about “tying
him up” to keep him out of the election campaign, says Alina Habba.
Habba, Trump's attorney and legal spokesperson, said on
“Carl Higbie FRONTLINE” that the accumulation of charges and the impending
trial schedule is “literally impossible” and it is all on purpose.
“The reason they keep pressing charges… is because they
don't really care if they win,” Habba told Higbie.
“They don't really care if these cases have merit. They care
about tying him up so he can't be out there doing what he has to do on the
campaign trail. And if we look at the test schedule ahead of us, it is
literally impossible. It's not about the legal team. "It's just the people
who need to be there: the witnesses, the statements... it's impossible, and
that's intentional."
“But you know, they picked the wrong guy. "He is
resilient, he is rich and strong, and he loves this country, and that only
motivates him and his base," he added.CBrief
