Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), a former member of the
Democratic Party, has split with Democrats with whom she still often caucuses
to introduce new legislation that would allow the federal Department of
Education to fund hunting and shooting programs. arch in primary and secondary
schools.
As reported by Fox News, Senators John Cornyn and (R-TX)
Thom Tillis (R-NC) joined Sinema in sponsoring the Hunting Education and
Heritage Protection Act.
The new bill would seek to further clarify an existing
statute that the Biden administration has interpreted to allow it to defund
after-school programs that provide education in the legal and responsible use
of firearms, such as target shooting, hunting and archery.CBrief
