LIMA.- The candidate of the leftist Peru Libre party, Pedro
Castillo avoided criticizing the dictatorship in Cuba for the violent repression
against protesters that has left at least one dead and launched attacks on the
United States for what he called an "anti-human and immoral blockade"
imposed on the island several decades ago.
After the publication of the post on his Twitter account,
the reactions did not wait. In this regard, former Vice Minister Hugo Palma
said that "it is a terrible idea" for Castillo to support Cuba and
specified that he should not "blame the blockade of a country for what
happens there, when it maintains relations with 200 others."
According to a work published by the portal Perú21 Palma
commented that Peru should study hard if it plans to make a change in its
foreign policy because it is an “extraordinarily complex issue. You have to be
extremely careful with the type of relationships that are established because
they can bring surprises ".
