Venezuelans do want to be vaccinated, but Maduro prevents it, they denounce

Health workers in Venezuela have been suffering the consequences of the policies of the socialist regime for more than a decade. The deterioration of the hospitals, the lack of medicines and medical supplies and a considerable detriment to wages have notably affected the sector, and the service provided in public institutions. This situation worsened during the pandemic not only due to the already lacking conditions, but also that health personnel, first at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19, did not receive or have received any guarantees to protect their health from the authorities of the regime.

This Saturday, more than a hundred people, along with representatives of health workers, marched through the streets of the east of the Venezuelan capital to demand the massive entry of vaccines and the dissemination of a transparent vaccination plan designed by experts and supervised by international organizations.

"We come to demand a vaccination plan prepared by experts, safe, equitable, fair and with the supervision of international organizations," said Ana Rosario Contreras, president of the Caracas College of Nursing, in a statement in front of the United Nations Program headquarters. United for Development (UNDP).
