Alina Habba resigns amid court rulings, but the Justice Department promises to support her until her return

After facing a series of court decisions that, according to her allies, seriously hampered her ability to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New Jersey, Alina Habba resigned.

Her supporters characterize these decisions as the result of “activist” tactics by some judges, an argument that has generated intense debate in legal and political circles.

However, her departure is far from the end. Attorney General Bondi assured that the Department of Justice will continue to defend Habba in the ongoing proceedings and expressed full confidence that, once the court decisions are overturned, she will be able to return to her original position.

Meanwhile, Habba will not remain on the sidelines: she will join the Department of Justice as Senior Advisor to the Attorney General for matters related to federal prosecutors, a role that keeps her at the heart of decision-making and institutional strategy.

For her supporters, the message is clear: Alina Habba still has much to contribute, and this stage is just the beginning of a new chapter.
